The patron saint of Portico di Caserta is Saint Peter the Apostle, celebrated on 29 June in the Church of San Pietro Apostolo.
From 22 to 26 January the feast of Saint Anthony the Abbot is celebrated, one of the town's most heartfelt and important events, marked by the Bottari tradition and the «Carri, Ritmi e Pastellessa» event: groups of performers beat barrels and vats to the rhythm of pastellessa, in a feast that is ancient yet strikingly current, drawing thousands of people every year from across Campania and beyond into the town's streets. The town also holds the Church of San Martino Vescovo and the Teatro Distinto.
