The patron of San Gregorio Matese is San Gregorio Magno, celebrated on the first Sunday of August.
The calendar includes the Good Friday procession from the church of Santa Maria delle Grazie to the little church of Santa Croce, the blessing of the characteristic Easter frittate (omelettes) at Easter and, on Corpus Domini, a characteristic procession with blankets displayed from balconies, votive altars and formulas recited in Latin. The municipality also holds the Chiesa Maria Santissima delle Grazie, Chiesetta di San Michele, the Cappella della Santa Croce and the Monte Maio.
