The patron of Cetara is Saint Peter the Apostle, celebrated on 29 June in the Parish of San Pietro Apostolo, with the traditional procession and a fireworks display over the sea.
The fishing village has been twinned since 2003 with Sète in France and since 2014 with Ceriale in Liguria. The town holds the Torre di Cetara and the Church of Santa Maria di Costantinopoli, and overlooks Monte Falerio.
