The patron of San Mauro Cilento is Saint Maurus the Martyr (San Mauro Martire), celebrated on 11 July; the municipality holds the Chiesa di San Mauro.
Higher up, inside the old cemetery area, stands the chapel that keeps the statue of Our Lady of Sorrows (the Addolorata), the destination of an annual pilgrimage and of a week of votive and penitential observance. The municipality also holds the churches of San Rocco and San Nicola.
