The patron of Vibonati is Saint Anthony the Abbot, celebrated in the Santuario di Sant'Antonio Abate: the festivities run from 8 to 17 January and draw hundreds of Vibonati emigrants and faithful from across the Gulf of Policastro.
On 17 January, the wooden half-bust statue of the saint, made in the second half of the 18th century, is carried in procession through the town's streets, accompanied by two confraternities, including the Arciconfraternita della Santissima Trinità. The town overlooks the Cilento, Vallo di Diano e Alburni National Park, and holds the Torre della Petrosa and the Convent of San Francesco di Paola.
