The patron saint of Mele is Saint Anthony the Abbot, celebrated on 17 January. The oldest document mentioning the town's church, named after him, dates from 22 July 1210; the present building, however, was built starting in 1790 and, amid interruptions and resumptions of the works, opened on 1 November 1808.
Next to it stands the oratory of Sant'Antonio Abate, home to the confraternity founded in 1536 and rebuilt in the second half of the 18th century: the rich stucco decoration by Rocco Cantone frames the pictorial cycle by Carlo Giuseppe Ratti depicting the Life of the saint, while the altarpiece shows the Madonna Regina and Saints, painted in 1625 by Giovanni Andrea Ansaldo and Orazio De Ferrari.
