On 22 September Neirone celebrates Saint Maurice the Martyr; the village also preserves the Fieschi Castle.
In 1889 at Roccatagliata a priest found a box tomb with a Ligurian warrior inside it, buried between the sixth and the fifth century BC: the finds are now in the museum of Ligurian archaeology at Pegli.
Of the castle the Fieschi raised in the same village, destroyed in the sixteenth century, what is left is the digging of an archaeological park and a fresco: in the parish church of San Maurizio the Fontanabuona valley is painted with the castle still standing. The population is 984.
