Pieve Ligure

Province: Genoa · Region: Liguria · Population: 2,582 · Postal code: 16031

At Pieve Ligure the plants flower early, and the mimosa has become the symbol of the village. The rest is done by the gradient: from sea level you climb in almost no distance to the 518 metres of monte Santa Croce, and the village is all there, among the olive terraces and the crêuze, divided by no official act into Pieve Bassa and Pieve Alta.

It was once called Pieve di Sori: the parish church here had jurisdiction over Sori as well, though the two were never joined. In March 2002 the council banned the building of new houses, barring special permits, so as not to lose the landscape. The population is 2,582.
