The patron saints of Airole are Saints Philip and James, celebrated on 11 May. The parish church dedicated to them was enlarged and remodelled several times over the centuries, until it reached its final Baroque form in 1757-1759: divided into three naves, it houses fine frescoes by the painters Carlo and Luigi Morgari, from the 20th century, and an 1837 organ built by Carlo Giuliani.
In the town's main square, facing the parish church, stands the fountain known as «la Pila», whose first construction, in 1790, contributed to Airole's urban growth: as early as 1768, the town counted 777 inhabitants. Not far away once stood the former oratory of San Giovanni Battista, built between 1655 and 1657 on commission from the Compagnia dei Disciplinanti and blessed on 24 March 1657, which remained open for worship until 1955 and is today converted into a hall for the parish's use.
