Borghetto d'Arroscia

Province: Imperia · Region: Liguria · Population: 463 · Postal code: 18020

The village was born of water: along the Arroscia there were mills, workshops and forges, and people from the coast came up here to work in them. On the stream a bridge of Roman date still stands.

Another bridge, instead, was blown up: on the night of 6 October 1944 the partisan Rajmond Rossi, 'Ramon', destroyed the bridge of Borghetto to cut the road to the German columns before the clash at Vessalico. In the church of Ubaga are kept a polyptych by Pietro Guido of 1537 and a stone font of 1504. The population is 463.
