Kuwait's pavilion at the 2015 Milan Expo was not demolished like almost all the others: the council of Val Brembilla bought it when the fair closed and in 2019 reassembled it on the old municipal yard, which became the site for markets and trade fairs. A piece of world's-fair architecture, designed to present a Gulf country, ended its life in a side valley of the Val Brembana, standing over the Thursday market.
The municipality, four thousand five hundred and twenty-two inhabitants in the province of Bergamo, has existed only since the fourth of February 2014, when the regional council merged Brembilla and Gerosa after the consultative referendum of the first of December 2013 had approved the union. The coat of arms granted the following year holds the two symbols together, the cross of Gerosa and the eagle of Brembilla, on the blue and gold bands the two communities already shared. The Val Brembana railway station closed in 1966; the museum of transhumance, housed in the former Bersaglio building, tells the story of cheese and shepherding in the Bergamo hills.
