The patron of Canzo is Saint Stephen, celebrated on 26 December in the Basilica di Santo Stefano.
On 27 December, San Stevenin, the old cattle fair is held: the elegant market portico, with five arches and double pilasters, still holds the rings once used to tether the animals on its outer walls. On the last Thursday of January, the Giubiana da Canz is celebrated, a traditional feast layering pre-Christian Celtic and medieval Christian elements. The town also venerates San Miro di Canzo, a hermit and pilgrim who lived between the thirteenth and fourteenth centuries, whose cult as «patron of rain» spread across the Duchy of Milan between the sixteenth and eighteenth centuries.
