Corte Palasio

In March 1862 Giuseppe Garibaldi came to Corte Palasio to see a school. The Lombard Agricultural Association, founded in 1856, had set up here a school of agricultural studies of considerable importance, and the general's visit says how much it counted. Then the funds ran out and the school closed. Much later, once the great estate had gone, the land was bought by the Fund for the Formation of Peasant Property and assigned to those who worked it: today there are some thirty farms with model cowsheds for dairy cattle.

The town's coat of arms, on the other hand, is a list of those who owned this land. The field paly of gold and green comes from the Trivulzio blazon, who held property here from 1460; the castle comes from the arms of the Pusterla, who shared the fief with the abbey of Santa Maria del Cerreto — the one that appears in the documents as early as 1143 and had for its emblem a crane with its vigilance. And the dominant green recalls Terraverde: the hamlet where the town hall stands.
