The patron saint of Cernusco sul Naviglio is Saint Roch, celebrated on 16 August in the church dedicated to him, in the hamlet of Ronco.
The parish church of Santa Maria Assunta, a place of worship probably founded in the 9th century and rebuilt in the 17th century, changing from two asymmetrical naves to a single one, holds on its façade a notable stained-glass window from 1562 and a bronze portal made in 1998 to a design by Felice Frigerio. Since 1990, the façade of the church of the Madonna del Divin Pianto has also displayed the Sole di San Bernardino, a 1966 work previously placed on the façade of Syracuse cathedral.
