The parish of Colturano is an island. Until 1989 it belonged to the archdiocese of Milan; in that year it passed to the diocese of Lodi, with which it had no historical link, but it kept the Ambrosian rite, which has been celebrated here without interruption since at least the thirteenth century. The church and the cult of Sant'Antonino martyr are attested from at least 1289; the parish as such, on the other hand, dates from 1932.
For the rest Colturano is an old farming place, a quarter of an hour from Milan. In the Napoleonic period it stopped being a comune for a few years, reduced to a hamlet of Mediglia, and became autonomous again with the Lombardo-Venetian Kingdom. From those days come its dimensions: 217 inhabitants in 1751, 669 by 1853. The most notable building is palazzo Fregoso, which goes back at least to the fourteenth century.
