At Zibido al Lambro two families ruled, in alternate years. Half the fief had remained with the Landriani and the other half was bought in 1688 by the Taverna, counts of Landriano: instead of dividing the territory, the two feudal lords divided the time, each exercising jurisdiction one year at a turn. Zibido was then suppressed in 1872 and joined to Torrevecchia Pia together with Vigonzone, which had been in part a fief of the Milanese abbey of Sant'Ambrogio.

The village was called simply Torre Vecchia and took its present name in 1863. For centuries it had been Milanese land, in the pieve of San Giuliano, and passed to the province of Pavia in 1786; but the ecclesiastical border did not follow the civil one. The church of the Nativity of Mary stayed with the archdiocese of Milan and was ceded to the diocese of Pavia only in 1979, almost two centuries later. Today there are three thousand four hundred and twenty-seven inhabitants in the plain on the left bank of the southern Lambro.
