The patron of San Ginesio is Saint Genesius the Martyr, celebrated on 25 August.
Around Ferragosto, Medievalia is held, a festival opening with the historical re-enactment of the Battle of the Fornarina, recalling the treacherous assault on the town orchestrated by the people of Fermo on 30 November 1377: the town relives its medieval atmosphere with staged settings and taverns. Almost every evening the Palio can be watched, in which athletes from the four districts compete in archery and crossbow shooting, sword races and the ring-tilting palio. The town also holds the Walls of San Ginesio.
