On the morning of 6 December 1907, in the Monongah mine in West Virginia, twelve men from Torella died. The village has two monuments to those who left, made by an artist from here, Fernando Izzi.
In piazza San Rocco there was a wayside cross, where the village met the drove road to Lucera; it was taken down in the 1960s, and in 2023 it was made again exactly as it had been, copied from a photograph of 1923. Above, on the Ciglione, the castle has three round towers with conical caps: one part of it houses the museum of the painter Elena Ciamarra. There are 794 residents.

Torella del Sannio celebrates Saint Clement the martyr on 15 October; the town, split between the newer Colle district and the ancient Ciglione, is dominated by the castle developed in the 13th century by the Angevins and later passed to several noble families.
