In the church of San Giovanni, in a village of 268 people, there is a full-size copy of the Turin Shroud: few places in the world have one. The bell tower, for its part, is a cylindrical watchtower — the only medieval thing left standing.
Sant'Onofrio leaves the church on 11 June and is carried in procession to the wood that bears his name; he stays there all summer and comes back to the village on 16 August. Below, the Trigno has been dammed: the Chiauci dam, opened in 2011, supplies comuni in both Molise and Abruzzo.
