The arms tell three things at once: a spouting fountain for the mineral and sulphurous springs of the district, a red cross for the crusades many Castellettesi joined, and the arms of the Adorno, lords of the place for some four centuries.
The castle over the village was built by the marquises of Monferrato in 1488, four-square, with marble colonnettes and arches topped by bull's-eye openings and a crown of Ghibelline merlons. The Torre Buzzi is from the early twentieth century, put up in late Gothic style on the spot where some historians think the first castle stood, the Obertengo one.
