Rosignano Monferrato

Province: Alessandria · Region: Piedmont · Population: 1,641 · Postal code: 15030

Rosignano stretches along the ridge, recognisable from a distance by the towers rising above the roofs: the Torre Civica and the bell tower of San Vittore. Inside the village stands the church of Sant'Antonio as well, and instrument making is a craft the place has some reputation for.

The countryside around holds two castles, San Bartolomeo at la Colma and Uviglie. At la Colma there is also Villa Maria, where the painter Angelo Morbelli spent his summers and made many of his works. Near the cemetery stands the church of the Madonna delle Grazie, its pale front banded in red, with a stairway climbing from the road.
