On 11 November Terruggia celebrates its patron Saint Martin of Tours; the town preserves the Torre Veglio.
The arms of Terruggia show a tower, but not a castle keep: it is the Torre Veglio, put up at the end of the nineteenth century on a hilltop, right where the municipal land touches Rosignano. Two stars keep it company; the gonfalon is a cloth divided diagonally in blue and yellow.
The village lies a little south of Casale Monferrato, on ground that is all hills. Seen from the fields around, it is strung out along the ridge, low houses in a row and the bell tower breaking the line of the roofs; on clear days the chain of the Alps rises behind it.
