On 7 September Entracque, a municipality of 807 inhabitants in the province of Cuneo, celebrates its patron Sant'Antonino.
Entracque lies in the Valle Gesso under the Maritime Alps; the name is the Latin intra aquas, between the waters: the Gesso torrent, the Bousset and the Pramalbert, which splits the village. Introd and Entrèves in Valle d'Aosta share it; until 1940 it was spelled Entraque.
In 1708, paying fifteen hundred ducats, the inhabitants obtained from Anne of Orléans, Duchess of Savoy, the right to elect their own mayors. The boundary then moved twice: outwards to the upper Vésubie in the mid-nineteenth century, back in 1947, when pastures, woods and the hamlet of Ciriegia passed to France with the peace treaty.
