Frabosa Sottana

Province: Cuneo · Region: Piedmont · Population: 1,494 · Postal code: 12083

Frabosa Sottana is a comune in the province of Cuneo made of hamlets more than of a village: Alma, Artesina, Gosi, Pianvignale, Prato Nevoso, Miroglio and Riosecco lie scattered across the mountain. In Piedmontese the name is Frabosa Sotana, or Frabosa 'd Sot, and in Occitan Frabosa Sotana; the council has formally declared it belongs to the historic Occitan minority.

The church of San Giuseppe faces a small paved space: a yellow front with pale pilasters, a triangular pediment, a stone doorway and two lower side doors. The white-plastered bell tower rises behind the nave, the clock just below the belfry.
