The name first appears in 1077, when duchess Immilla of Turin, sister of Adelaide of Susa, lists Rodino among the properties she gives to the Benedictine monks of San Pietro in Musinasco. The road to Cerretto Langhe crossed the border between the marquisates of Saluzzo and Ceva, and crossing it cost a toll: the place is still called Pedaggera.
Cascina Porina began as the priory of San Lorenzo, became a patrician house and ended up, in the eighteen hundreds, a farm. The chapel of Sant'Adriano at Costepomo was built late in the same century by the people of the hamlet, where the surname Adriano was common.
