Ciconio

Province: Turin · Region: Piedmont · Population: 371 · Postal code: 10080

Ciconio is a village in the Canavese, in the Metropolitan City of Turin, bordered by Rivarolo Canavese, San Giorgio Canavese, Ozegna and Lusigliè. Its name comes in three forms: Ciconio in Italian, Sicheugn in Piedmontese, and Cicunium, written on the village's coat of arms.

The rest of that coat of arms is unusually plain: on a blue field a single figure, the church with its bell tower, painted in natural colours, and above it the name of the village. No castle, no watchtower, no feudal emblem. The gonfalon, too, is a plain blue cloth.
