Lusernetta

Province: Turin · Region: Piedmont · Population: 524 · Postal code: 10060

Lusernetta lies in the Val Pellice, on the right bank of the Pellice; Lusernëtta in Piedmontese, Luzerneta in Occitan. The coat of arms carries an oil lamp, which chimes with the place name, drawn in its Roman and medieval form: a stand holding three small lamps. In older versions it is smaller and carries a hook for hanging; the gonfalon is blue and yellow, split lengthwise.

By the cemetery stands the chapel of San Bernardino: bare brick, a stone pointed-arch doorway, a row of small blind arches under the gable, a pinnacle on each side and a cross on top; over the doorway a worn shield under a crown.
