San Pietro Val Lemina sits at the middle of the small Val Lemina, which takes its name from the Lemina torrent. The village has three names, depending on who speaks: San Pé in Piedmontese, San Piere in Occitan, San Pietro in Italian. In piazza Piemonte, since July 1974, stands the monument “Ai Piemontesi nel mondo”, by the sculptor Gioachino Chiesa.
The parish church is dedicated to Saints Peter and Paul the Apostles. Its front is plastered yellow, with a curved gable and a painted panel above the door; the bell tower beside it is left in bare brick, with an open belfry, a clock face and a small copper dome long turned green.
