Bannio Anzino has several patrons, one for each hamlet: in Anzino Saint Bernard of Menthon and Saint Anthony of Padua, celebrated on 13 June and the following Sunday with great participation of faithful who come on foot from the neighbouring valleys crossing the Alpine passes; in Bannio Our Lady of the Snow, on 5 August, and Saint Bartholomew.
The Milizia Tradizionale of Bannio, an honour guard of the Madonna made up of 60 men under a colonel and 8 officers, takes part in the feast of Our Lady of the Snow: every year since 1629 it has celebrated the Madonna on 5 August and the first Sunday of August, with the guard of honour and volleys of blank-loaded rifles; in July the colonel and the officers are chosen by lot.
