15 August is the patronal feast of Scopello, dedicated to Santa Maria Assunta (Assumption of Mary). On this occasion the women of the village wear costumes and walk through the streets alongside the statue of the Madonna, made by the sculptor Pier Celestino Gilardi of Campertogno.
On 5 August, at the Festa di Mera, the oratory of the Madonna Nera di Mera celebrates the Madonna della Neve: residents and holidaymakers gather to eat on the meadows the 'caponeit', rolls of wild rhubarb leaf enclosing a heart of mixed herbs.
