The patron saint of Ruvo di Puglia is Saint Blaise, celebrated on 3 February. The town's co-patrons are Pope Saint Cletus, celebrated on 26 April, Saint Roch, on 16 August, and the Holy Sacrament, eight days after Corpus Christi.
Ruvo is best known for its Holy Week rites, considered the town's main event and included by IDEA among the events of Italy's intangible heritage: the celebrations open with the procession of the Desolata on the Friday of Passion week, before Palm Sunday, continue with the striking night procession of the Eight Saints on Holy Thursday and that of the Mysteries on Good Friday, and close with the procession of the Pietà on Holy Saturday and that of the Risen Christ on Easter Sunday.
