Feast of Saint Leonard

On 6 November Dualchi celebrates its patron Saint Leonard with riders on horseback circling his church, led by the capocorsa carrying the saint's banner.
In a comune of a few hundred people there are eight dolmens, a gallery grave, a megalithic wall, sixteen nuraghi and eight giants' tombs. Dolmens are not as common in Sardinia as they are elsewhere: here, on the plateau, they stand one beside the other.
On the twenty-eighth and twenty-ninth of June, for Saints Peter and Paul, the Ardia is run on the country track of the Iscammeddu: in front goes the bandela mazzore with the saint's standard, behind it the second with Saint Paul's, and three horsemen called scorte have the task of stopping the others from overtaking them. In 1478 the people of Dualchi sided with Leonardo Alagon against the Aragonese, and lost.
