On the plateau of Atzadalai, during some works, a little idol of reddish volcanic rock came to light, more than six thousand years old: a woman's figure with her arms gathered under her breasts, and on the left arm incisions that probably draw a child in the womb. It is among the oldest things Sardinian art has left.
Not far off is the nuragic sanctuary of Abini, with its sacred well: it may have been a federal sanctuary, where people from all over the island gathered. In September 1865 it was a local boy who talked some farmers into digging, and out of that came the bronze figures that are now in the museum of Cagliari.
