The patron of Samassi is Saint Geminianus of Cagliari, called "Santu Millanu" in Campidanese; his most cherished feast, "sa festa manna", falls on 16 September and spans four days of celebration, from the 14th to the 17th.
Religious rites, however, begin on 8 September and last ten days, with novenas celebrated daily up to the 16th; the saint is also celebrated a second time each year, two Sundays after Easter, under the name "Santu Millaneddu de su Beranu".
