The patron saint of Ciminna is Saint Vitus, celebrated on the first Sunday of September in the church dedicated to him. The town's main religious-folkloric feast, however, is that of the Holy Crucifix, known as «Patri di li grazi»: it is held every year on the first Sunday of May and was first celebrated in 1651, following events considered miraculous.
On the Saturday after 8 December, meanwhile, «u Triunfu» takes place, a night procession commemorating the arrival of the statue of the Immaculate Conception, a beautifully crafted image carved by the Palermo sculptor Antonino Barcellona in 1781. Saint Sebastian, on 20 January, is celebrated with the distribution of oranges, bonfires (vampa) and the ntinna, the pignata game played with the help of a donkey; the following Sunday sees the procession of the saint's wooden statue.
