Known in the Sicilian language as Bbašina, Baucina is a small municipality in the Metropolitan City of Palermo with 2,014 residents. The town covers an area of 24.4 square kilometres, positioned roughly 25 kilometres southeast of Palermo itself.
Baucina shares its administrative borders with six neighboring municipalities, including Caccamo, Ciminna, Ventimiglia di Sicilia, and Bolognetta. Its location places it squarely within the interior hills connecting regional routes across the province.
