In 1878, near the church, a Roman milestone turned up with the figure XXXXI cut on it: forty-one miles from a terminus thought to be Feltre. From that number some make the via Claudia Augusta pass through here. The coins found in the village run from Augustus to Hadrian.
The hill of Tenna separates the lake of Caldonazzo from the lake of Levico, and from up there the whole valley can be watched: that is why the Austro-Hungarians put a fort on it, whose roof, in the Great War, was strengthened with sandbags. The little church of Santa Maria e San Rocco was built by the community during the cholera of 1855, and consecrated three years later.
