The patron saint of Castiglion Fiorentino is Saint Michael the Archangel, celebrated on 8 May.
The Palio dei Rioni, an equestrian competition contested in its modern era since 1977, is held on the third Sunday of June and pits against each other the three districts, or Terzieri, into which the town is divided, including Cassero and Porta Romana. The Festa dello Statuto found its natural home in Piazza Garibaldi, the «Parterre» as the townspeople call it, where it was first held, according to a period manuscript, on 5 June 1864. The town holds the Giardino di Piazza Matteotti and the Parco di Villa Lovari.
