The patrons of Piazza al Serchio are Saints Peter and Paul, celebrated on 29 June.
The Fiera di San Pietro is held every year on the Sunday closest to 28 June, with the area's typical dishes cooked according to traditional recipes; since 2010 it has been preceded by the Notte Bianca (White Night), amid food and music events in the town's squares. In mid-July, in the hamlet of Sant'Anastasio, comes the traditional Festa del farro (spelt festival), with tastings of dishes made from this local staple. The town holds the Museo Italiano dell'Immaginario Folklorico and the Fortezza di Castelvecchio.
