The patron saints of Bassano del Grappa are Saint Bassian and Blessed Giovanna Maria Bonomo, celebrated on 19 January: on this very date, the feast of Saint Bassian, the town holds its patronal feast every year, on which occasion a town prize tied to the occasion is presented.
Bassano del Grappa is also known today for its rich summer cultural calendar, enlivened by the Operaestate Festival Veneto, a multidisciplinary event of theatre, dance, music and opera held every summer in the town and neighbouring towns along the Pedemontana Veneta strip; among the main event venues are the Sala Jacopo da Ponte, opened in 1970, and the more recent Teatro al Castello «Tito Gobbi». The town also holds historic sites of great importance such as the Castello degli Ezzelini, the Tempio Ossario and the church of San Giovanni Battista.
