The patron of Aymavilles is Christ the King, and the village's holiday falls on 24 November. The title comes from there: in 1926 the two medieval churches of Saint-Martin and Saint-Léger were united in the parish of Christ the King, and their bell towers ended up on the municipal coat of arms along with the castle.
The castle looks down on the village from a moraine hill; further up, at the entrance to the Cogne valley, is the Pont d'Aël, the Roman aqueduct over the Grand Eyvia. On the coat of arms, in place of the usual oak and laurel fronds, are the branches of the area's main farm produce.
