The patron saint of Accettura is Saint Julian, celebrated on 27 January; the church dedicated to him holds a bell cast in 1611 by Gaspare di Missanello, a 15th-century wooden crucifix, and 16th- and 18th-century wooden statues, including one of the patron himself.
The town's most famous feast, however, is the Maggio di Accettura, which begins on Pentecost Sunday and is likewise dedicated to Saint Julian: an ancient propitiatory and nuptial rite, an expression of traditional tree cults, rich in anthropological, sociological and religious aspects that have over time attracted numerous scholars. The town's Museum of Arboreal Cults holds paintings, photographs and videos of the feast, while eight murals painted between 2015 and 2020, in addition to one painted in the 1970s by Costantin Udroiu, depict its main phases: from the raising and climbing to the carrying of the Cima, from the procession of the Saint to the dance of the Cente.
