The patron of Guardia Perticara is Saint Nicholas the Great, celebrated on 9 May in the church that bears his name.
The village stands at 750 metres above sea level, in the Val d'Agri. Among its places are also the convent of Sant'Antonio, Palazzo Montano, the chapel of Santa Maria del Sauro and Porta Concordia.
