The patron saints of San Chirico Raparo are Saint Chirico, or Quiricus, the martyr, Our Lady of Mount Carmel, and Saint Sinforosa of Tivoli, the martyr, celebrated together from 15 to 18 July: during these four days solemn festivities take place, with massive and heartfelt participation from the whole local community, evidence of the strong devotion and attachment to the patron saints even among those who no longer live in the town.
The town's very name seems to derive from Saint Quiricus of Iconium, in Byzantine Greek Άγιος Κύρικος Ικονίου, highly venerated by Eastern monks and martyred at the time of Diocletian's persecutions. San Chirico Raparo stands at 780 metres above sea level, on a rocky spur overlooking the Racanello valley, near Monte Raparo.
