The patron saint of Vietri di Potenza is Saint Anselm the Martyr, celebrated twice a year: on the first Sunday of May and the second Sunday of July. The town's mother church is dedicated to Saint Nicholas of Myra and holds a painting of the Madonna and Child by Paolo de Matteis, from around 1718.
The town also has the churches of San Giuseppe, San Michele and the Santissima Annunziata; its territory is crossed by the Platano and Carpineto viaducts, along the Basentana road, and is home to the rock-cut Marian sanctuary of the Madonna di Lourdes.
