The patron of Piana di Monte Verna is Saint Roch of Montpellier, celebrated on the fourth Sunday of August. The town also venerates three co-patrons: the Blessed Virgin Immaculate, Santa Maria a Marciano and Saint Nicholas of Bari.
The town holds the ruins of a Benedictine convent and the Church of Santa Maria a Marciano, and overlooks Monte Cognolo, Monte Forca, Monte Mesorinolo and Monte Monticello.
