The patron of Rocca San Casciano is Saint Cassian of Imola (san Cassiano di Imola), celebrated on 13 August; the municipality holds the Chiesa di Santa Maria delle Lacrime.
In April the Festa del Falò (bonfire festival) is celebrated, a traditional event with a competition between the Borgo di Sopra and Mercato districts: on the two banks of the river Montone, combustible structures are built mainly from broom and pine needles. From the 18th century the feast of San Giuseppe, on 19 March, became associated with the practice of the bonfires and for a time was the only date of the festival. The standard of the Borgo di Sopra bears the figure of a ram, accompanied by an inscription in Romagnol, «Fat en là».
