The comune was born on the first of January 2018, putting together Caminata, Nibbiano and Pecorara. But borders have been argued over here for a century: when these villages were shifted from the province of Pavia to that of Piacenza, the people protested, marched on Bobbio, and on the twenty-seventh of February 1925 went to vote. Those who wanted to go back to Pavia won; three comuni were given back, Caminata and Trebecco were not.
The lake to the south bears the name of a village that no longer exists: it is called Trebecco because when the Molato dam was built, finished in 1928, almost all the water lay in that comune's territory, and the comune was suppressed soon after. The patronal feast, meanwhile, falls on the eighteenth of July: it is the day in 929 when the ark with the body of Saint Columbanus passed through Nibbiano.
