The patroness of Sappada is Santa Margherita di Antiochia, celebrated on 20 July; the village holds the Chiesa di Santa Margherita.
The municipality also holds the Chiesa di Sant'Osvaldo, the Cappella di Sant'Antonio, the Museo etnografico «Maestro Giuseppe Fontana» and the Casa-Museo della Civiltà contadina. The Sappada carnival (Plodar Vosenòcht) takes place over three Sundays, each dedicated to a social class represented by the masked figures: the Sunday of the poor (Pèttlar Sunntach), that of the farmers (Paurn Sunntach) and that of the gentlemen (Hearn Sunntach). Other days of the carnival are Fat Thursday (Vaastign Pfinzntòk), with the parade of the Rollate along the streets of the village, Fat Monday (Vrèss Montach), a day dedicated to the Rollate, and Shrove Tuesday (Schpaib Ertach), dedicated to children.
