The co-patron of Villa Santo Stefano is Saint Stephen the Protomartyr, celebrated on 26 December, whose name became part of the town's own name; the main patron is Saint Roch, on 16 August.
The feast of Saint Roch is the Panarda, dating from around 1601: on the night of 15 August, in piazza Umberto I, forty copper cauldrons cook seven quintals of chickpeas, which the "panardari" in green and amaranth costume carry running, in terracotta jugs, to the addresses indicated.
